History
- In December 2017, JIGC (Journal of Islamic Guidance and Counseling) published its inaugural edition, namely Volume 1, Number 1. This scientific journal was initially managed by the Islamic Guidance and Counseling Study Program, Faculty of Ushuluddin and Religious Studies, UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi, and was accessible via http://jigc.fusa.uinjambi.ac.id.
- On January 18, 2018, JIGC officially obtained its International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) from the Indonesian National ISSN Data Center, with the numbers 2614-4506 (print) and 2614-4492 (online).
- Since January 2018, the management of JIGC was transferred from the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Religious Studies to the Faculty of Da'wah. This transition resulted in a change of the journal's domain address to https://e-journal.lp2m.uinjambi.ac.id/ojp/index.php/jigc/index.
- Starting from Volume 7 Number 1 (June 2023), JIGC (Journal of Islamic Guidance and Counseling) uses a new cover
- On March 21, 2025, the journal was officially accredited at rank 4 (Sinta 4) by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia based on Decree Number 0173/C3/DT.05.00/2025. This accreditation is valid for publications from Volume 6 Number 2 (2022) to Volume 11 Number 1 (2027).
- Starting from Volume 9 Number 1 (June 2025), JIGC (Journal of Islamic Guidance and Counseling) underwent a transformation by implementing full English usage and launching a new article template and website layout.
