Appeals and Complain
Appeals
Authors have the right to appeal an editorial decision on their submission to the Journal of Islamic Guidance and Counselling (JIGC) if they believe a significant error or misunderstanding has occurred during the review process.
Procedure for Appeals:
- To appeal a decision, the author must submit a formal letter to the Editor-in-Chief via the journal's official email.
- The appeal letter must detail the specific grounds for the appeal, clearly explaining why the decision is considered unfair or incorrect. The letter should address the reviewers' comments point-by-point or provide evidence of a procedural error.
- Appeals must be submitted within 30 (thirty) calendar days of the initial decision date.
Appeal Process:
Upon receiving an appeal, the Editor-in-Chief will:
- Review all documentation related to the submission, including the manuscript, reviewer comments, and the original decision letter.
- May consult with the relevant Associate Editors and/or the original reviewers for further clarification.
- If deemed necessary, appoint one or more new independent reviewers to re-evaluate the submission.
- The decision made by the Editor-in-Chief following this appeal process is final and will be communicated to the author without further recourse.
