LARANGAN MENGUNGKIT SEDEKAH PERSPEKTIF MA’ANIL HADIS M. SYUHUDI ISMAIL
(Analisis Hadis Riwayat Ahmad no. 6882)
Abstract
This study examines the prohibition of reminding others of one’s charity, based on the hadith narrated by Ahmad ibn Hanbal no. 6882, analyzed through M. Syuhudi Ismail’s ma‘ānī al-ḥadīs approach. The main objective is to explore how this prohibition should be understood both textually and contextually. Data were collected through a literature review and a critical analysis of the hadith. The findings show that the hadith belongs to the category of jawāmi‘ al-kalim, a concise statement with comprehensive meaning. The prohibition is not merely normative but also has significant social relevance in shaping the ethics of worship and social relations. In the contemporary context, this hadith provides moral warning against the practice of publicizing charity on social media that often involves self-display. Therefore, this hadith emphasizes the importance of sincerity in giving and the prohibition of spoiling good deeds by boasting or reminding others of one’s generosity.
