Author Guidelines
- Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere. Articles should focus on Qur’an and Hadith studies (see Focus and Scope) and may be written in English or Bahasa Indonesia.
- Manuscripts must be in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx), 6,000–8,000 words in length (including footnotes and bibliography). Use Cambria (12 pt) for Latin script and Traditional Arabic (14 pt) for Arabic script, with 1.15 line spacing. The page setup is A4 size, with 4 cm margins on the left and right, and 3 cm on the top and bottom.
- The title must be clear and concise (maximum 15 words). The first page should include the author’s name, institutional affiliation, email address, and phone number.
- An abstract of 200–250 words in both English and Bahasa Indonesia must be provided, followed by 3–5 keywords.
- The main text should include an introduction, discussion, and conclusion.
- All references must be cited in footnotes (not in-text citations) following the Chicago Manual of Style 17th edition (Full Note). Reference managers such as Mendeley or Zotero are strongly recommended. The use of Ibid., op. cit., and loc. cit. is not permitted. All works cited in footnotes must also appear in the bibliography, arranged alphabetically by the author’s last name.
- Arabic transliteration follows the Library of Congress (LC) system (e.g., al-Qur’an, al-Sunnah, tafsīr, ḥadīth, qiyās).
- Manuscripts must be submitted through the At-Tibyan OJS [click here]; authors are required to register and log in before submission.
- Every submitted manuscript undergoes a double-blind peer review. The final decision (acceptance, revision, or rejection) is based on reviewers’ recommendations and the editorial board’s consideration.
