Cooperatives serve as an institution or vehicle for the people's economy, grounded in the principles of mutual cooperation and familial solidarity, in accordance with the nation's cultural values. Over time, cooperatives have evolved into a distinct economic system within society. Their primary objective is to fulfill the livelihood needs of members and address their economic challenges. This study aims to analyze strategies for enhancing the performance of cooperatives in the school environment of MTsN 1 Palangka Raya City and to assess the impact of implementing these strategies on cooperative performance. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and document analysis. The findings indicate that the strategy for improving cooperative performance at MTsN 1 Palangka Raya City is implemented through three key stages: planning, implementation, and evaluation. The planning stage is formulated during the Annual Member Meeting (Rapat Anggota Tahunan – RAT), focusing on expanding loan services and efficient capital management. The implementation stage involves accelerating loan processing, reducing interest rates, improving service quality, and expanding cooperative business operations to enhance capital turnover. Meanwhile, the evaluation stage is conducted periodically through RAT to review achievements, identify obstacles, and set subsequent operational targets to ensure sustainability and overall cooperative strengthening. The positive impact of this strategy is evident in the performance of the MTsN 1 Palangka Raya City Cooperative, with income increasing to over IDR 500 million by 2024 and a rise in the allocated Net Surplus (SHU) for educational funds and member dividends.
