CRITICISM OF HIKAYAT MASYHUD HAKK MANUSCRIPT IN THE PERSPECTIVE OF HISTORICAL SCIENCE

Abstract

This paper examines the story of Masyhud Hakk as an ancient text for traditional historiography in terms of the content of the manuscript, by analyzing the manuscript directly in the form of the story of Masyhud Hakk's life journey using the literature review method by means of analysis carried out on several elements of the Masyhud Hakk saga that are not suitable for historical writing sources, by using books, articles,  or other sources in the process of analyzing, Some factors that are not in accordance with historical facts include, there are myths, disheveled storylines, contradictions in the story told, and the time and place of events are not clear, even so there are advantages of this manuscript as a Malay Satra work that acts as a picture of the identity of the people of their time,  moral messages and also as traces of the style of writing Malay literary works in his time.
