Focus and Scope

Al-Wasatiyah: Journal of Religious Moderation focuses on religious moderation studies through theoretical and field research. Its primary aim is to encourage tolerance, mutual understanding, and respect for diversity among Muslims or between Muslims and non-Muslims, emphasizing coexistence within the framework of Islamic studies and social sciences. The journal’s scope spans multiple disciplines, including tafsīr (qur’anic exegesis), Islamic law, Islamic philosophy, religious studies, cultural studies, sociology, economics, politics, etc. All these disciplines are accepted as long as they maintain religious moderation as their focus and foundation.
