Plagiarism Check
1. Commitment to Academic Integrity
Sustainability (STPP) Theory, Practice and Policy maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards plagiarism and other forms of academic misconduct. We are committed to publishing original, high-quality research and ensuring the integrity of the scholarly record.
2. Screening Procedure
All manuscripts submitted to the journal are subject to a rigorous plagiarism check. The screening is conducted by the Editorial Board using the Turnitin software prior to the manuscript entering the formal peer-review process. The maximum acceptable similarity index for any manuscript is 25%. However, this percentage is a tool to aid editorial assessment. The final decision is based on a careful, manual examination of the similarity report, as the context of overlapping text is critically important.
3. Handling of Manuscripts.
a. Minor Overlap. Manuscripts with a similarity score slightly above the threshold but containing overlaps in standard sections (e.g., methodology, bibliography) may be returned to the author with a request for revision and proper citation.
b. Significant Plagiarism. Manuscripts with a high similarity score, or those containing clear evidence of uncredited text, will be rejected outright. The authors may also be barred from submitting to the journal in the future.
4. Report Transparency
To ensure a transparent process, a copy of the final Turnitin similarity report will be provided to the corresponding author once a manuscript has been formally accepted for publication.
