About the Journal
TAJDID: Jurnal Ilmu Ushuluddin (P-ISSN: 2502-3063, E-ISSN: 2541-5018), is a peer-review journal of Islamic studies published twice a year (June and December) by Faculty of Ushuluddin and Religious Studies, State Islamic University (UIN) Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi since 2014, is concerned with publishing original (library or field) research articles in the field of Islamic studies. All submitted papers are subject to double-blind review process. TAJDID: Jurnal Ilmu Ushuluddin received its reaccredited by the Director General of Strengthening Research and Development, Ministry of Research Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia in 2023. Through Director Decree No. 77/E/KPT/2024, this accreditation is effective until 2027. TAJDID: Jurnal Ilmu Ushuluddin has become a CrossRef Member since year 2014. Therefore, all articles published by TAJDID: Jurnal Ilmu Ushuluddin will have unique Digital Object Identifier (DOI) number.
Focus and Scope
TAJDID: Jurnal Ilmu Ushuluddin focuses on the renewal of Islamic scholarship through critical, contextual, and integrative studies that bridge classical texts, Islamic thought, social and cultural Muslims to contemporary realities and issues. The journal welcomes literature and/or empirical research in the field of Islamic studies especially on, but not limited to the Qur'an and Hadith, Islamic Theology (Kalam), Islamic Philosophy, Islamic Mysticism (Tasawuf), Islamic Politics, and Religious Studies. All of these disciplines are acceptable as long as they are aligned with that focus. Tajdid emphasizes an interdisciplinary and innovative approach that promotes intellectual renewal (Tajdid Al-Fikr Al-Islami), encouraging dialogue among scholars who seek to reinterpret Islamic knowledge in the evolving context of the Muslim world and humanity at large to support The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), prevent a clash of civilizations and promote Islam Rahmatan Li Al-'Alameen. Scholars from any country and region concerned with the renewal of Islamic scholarship throughout Muslim history and geography in the Islamic World and beyond may submit their articles to Tajdid and use this open access journal.

Peer Review Process
Editor in Chief will assign the manuscript to the managing editor for further handling. The managing editor will request at least two scientists to review the research article manuscript. All manuscripts are subject to double-blind peer-review, both the reviewer and author identities are concealed from the reviewers, and vice versa, throughout the review process to meet standards of academic excellence. All papers are fully peer-reviewed. We only publish articles that have been reviewed and approved by highly qualified researchers with expertise in a field appropriate (at least two reviewers per article). Publication Ethics
TAJDID: Jurnal Ilmu Ushuluddin, is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against any publication malpractices. The Editorial Board is responsible for, among others, preventing publication malpractice. Unethical behavior is unacceptable, and the TAJDID does not tolerate plagiarism in any form. Authors who submitted articles: affirm that manuscript contents are original. Furthermore, the authors’ submission also implies that the manuscript has not been published previously in any language, either wholly or partly, and is not currently submitted for publication elsewhere. Our revenue sources include Article Processing Charges (APCs), which authors pay upon manuscript acceptance to cover publication costs. Institutional support from UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi and other academic institutions aids our administrative and technological needs. We may display relevant advertisements that do not compromise content integrity. Grants, sponsorships, and donations from aligned entities support initiatives like special issues and conferences. Importantly, our revenue sources do not influence editorial decisions; manuscripts are evaluated solely on scientific merit. We prioritize affordability, accessibility, and publishing standards to maintain transparency in our operations.
Advertising
TAJDID: Jurnal Ilmu Ushuluddin maintains transparency and integrity through its advertising policy. Relevant and appropriate advertisements, such as academic conferences, educational programs, and research tools, are considered. The editorial board or an advertising committee makes decisions based on relevance and quality. Advertisements do not influence editorial decisions, ensuring the scientific merit of manuscripts. They are displayed separately from published content, clearly distinguished, and placed in designated sections. Advertisements are not linked to specific content or reader behavior, selected based on relevance, or displayed randomly. TAJDID prioritizes professionalism, ethics, and the separation of advertising from scientific content, upholding editorial independence and article integrity.
