Peer Review Process
Ash-Shihhah: Journal of Health Studies is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and academic excellence. Our peer review process is designed to ensure that all published articles are rigorously evaluated for their scientific accuracy, relevance, and contribution to the field of health studies.
Submission and Preliminary Check:
1. Manuscript Submission: Authors submit their manuscripts through the online submission portal, adhering to the Author Guidelines.
2. Initial Screening: The editorial office conducts a preliminary check to ensure the submission is complete, adheres to the journal's guidelines, and falls within the scope of the journal.
Editorial Assessment:
3. Editorial Review: The Editor-in-Chief or an Associate Editor assesses the manuscript for its scientific merit, relevance, and quality. If the manuscript does not meet the required standards, it may be rejected without peer review.
Peer Review:
4. Reviewer Selection: The editor selects 2-3 qualified reviewers with expertise in the subject matter. Reviewer anonymity is maintained throughout the process.
5. Review Conducted: Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on its originality, methodology, analysis, clarity, and contribution to the field. They provide constructive feedback and a recommendation (Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject).
6. Feedback to Authors: The reviewers' comments and recommendations are shared with the authors.
Revision and Reevaluation:
7. Revisions by Authors: If revisions are required, authors are given a specific timeframe to submit the revised manuscript.
8. Reevaluation: The revised manuscript is reevaluated by the original reviewers or new reviewers, ensuring that all concerns have been adequately addressed.
Decision and Publication:
9. Final Decision: Based on the reviewers' feedback and the quality of the revised manuscript, the editor makes the final decision (Accept or Reject).
10. Publication: Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting, layout formatting, and are then published on the journal's website, accessible to all readers under the Open Access Policy.
Feedback and Continuous Improvement:
11. Feedback to Reviewers: Reviewers receive feedback on the quality of their reviews, contributing to the continuous improvement of the peer review process.
Quality Assurance: The journal continuously monitors and evaluates the peer review process to ensure its effectiveness, fairness, and timeliness.
