THE IMPACT OF BEHAVIOR AND LANGUAGE BY MAIN CHARACTERS TO OTHERS AS FOUND IN COMIC YOUR NAME BY RANMARU KOTONE AND MAKOTO SHINKAI.

Abstract

The title of this comic is Your Name this comic itself have its unique ways for language because of the story which the Main Characters Taki and Mitsuha swapped their souls to each other’s body made their surrounding different and while usually Taki have the personality of a impolite boy while Mitsuha have the personality of polite girl in this comic made it have two unique polite and impolite language however because in this comic Taki have more scene than Mitsuha resulted this comic to have more impolite language. The purposes of this research are (1) to find out the behavior of the main characters and see the impact of the behavior of the main characters to other characters (2) want to know the impact of language the main characters used to other characters (3) to find all basic of class of words and find out the words that used by the main characters that have impact to other characters based on class of words. This research used the main theory of C. Benedict to find out the basic style of behavior, there are four styles of behavior; aggressive, assertive, passive and passive-aggressive then used it to see the impact of behavior by main characters to other characters. This research used a qualitative method to collect the data. This research used the analysis technique of descriptive analysis data to analyze the data in this comic. The object of this research is the comic Your Name by Ranmaru Kotone and Makoto Shinkai. The result of this research is the impact of behavior and language by main characters to other characters found in the comic. There are 4 data of behavior by main characters that have an impact to other characters, 3 Data found that indicate language that used by the main characters have impacted other characters and 9 Data found that the words of main characters have impacted other characters based on class of words.
